Elise Testone was the latest contestant voted off, even though I though she had the best solo performance of the season on Led Zeppelin's 'Whole Lotta Love.' In Elise's farewell tribute video, she said that her favorite part of her Idol journey was connecting with the other contestants. "I want to be an inspiration for people," she said. "That's what this is all about." She may be on her way — Stevie Nicks wants to hire her. Sweeeet!

The Queen Extravaganza North American Tour kicks off May 26th in Quebec, with 25 dates throughout the U.S. and Canada. The Queen Extravaganza touring band includes four vocalists and five musicians (two guitars, bass, drums and keyboards), who were hired after an intensive 12-week online audition search. The buzz surrounding the public auditions sparked worldwide interest, with video submissions generating more than 10 million views. Television host Ellen DeGeneres was so impressed with the level of talent that she invited one hopeful contestant to perform his audition on her show. That contestant, Nashville's Marc Martel, secured himself a place in the final band. The rest of The Queen Extravaganza band includes vocalist and QE contestant Jennifer Espinoza, along with addition vocalists Yvan Pedneault and Jeff Scott Soto; bassist Francois Olivier Doyon; guitarists Brian Gresh and Tristan Avakian; drummer Tyler Warren; and keyboardist & musical director Brandon Ethridge.

A You Tube video has been posted by a dad with his three children, belting out 'Bohemian Rhapsody' on the way to school. The video’s description states:

“It has become a morning habit to sing Bohemian Rhapsody on the way to school in the morning. Depending on traffic, we can usually start the song as we pull out of the driveway, and pull into the school just as the song ends.”

This from Rollingstone.com: Sci-fi blog io9 has unearthed a comic book page featuring Wolverine and Queen frontman Freddie Mercury drawn by an unknown artist as a submission to Marvel Comics at some point in the Nineties. The page depicts the X-Men antihero prowling through the woods only to stumble upon the Queen singer standing in a confident pose.

The only dialogue on the page has Wolverine uttering "Freddy [sic] Mercury?," because, really, what else would you say if you unexpectedly ran into the Queen singer a few years after his death? Also, obviously, Wolverine must be wondering what Mercury is doing in a comic book to begin with.

The page has been in circulation online for some time. Back in 2010, former Marvel Comics staffer Steve Bunche shared the page on his blog, saying that while the art was not up to snuff for the top superhero comics publisher, he admired the artist's imagination. "Seriously, how the fuck does someone even make the leap in narrative logic from depicting Wolverine stalking through the forest to having him run into Freddie Mercury of Queen for no apparent reason?" Bunche wrote. "That, dear readers, is a sign of true creativity."

‘Anvil 2: The Quest For World Peace’ documentary in the works

‘Anvil 2: The Quest For World Peace’ documentary in the works

After the incredible success of  the documentary 'Anvil! The Story of Anvil', drummer Robb Reiner and guitarist/vocalist Steve "Lips" Kudlow of Canadian metal legends ANVIL have plans for another documentary.

Lips and Robb recently spoke to John Doan of MusicFrenzy.net about their next documentary project, which has a working title of "Anvil 2: The Quest For World Peace".

Robb: "Me and Lips are gonna try to rally the world and throw a peace concert in Israel, and they're gonna film it."

Lips: "The selfish endeavor of making it for ourselves is pretty much done. We're living the dream. Now it's like, what can we do to change the world? We changed our world, but what can we do to change the world to make it a better place? There's a way to use your celebrity for really good things."

Robb: "We're gonna go and rally this and we're gonna try to pull this off. See, we don't know if we're gonna pull this off, but we're gonna make a major attempt. And they're gonna film our quest. And if it does happen, that's amazing. And if it doesn't happen…"

Lips: "…Then the world will see that, even though we tried, what the obstacles were and what we have to overcome. As a human race, what we have to overcome."

mybatteryplace.com, Batteries for Everything!

Robb: "We're gonna talk to lots of bands, politicians, corporations… Everything possible to be involved in this, we're gonna rally, and we'll film it in real time, and we'll see what happens."

Lips: "The whole concept started [when I was] sitting in the director's house and there [was] a newspaper sitting on the kitchen table, and I just started flipping out, 'cause I [was] reading it. It was one of those situations where things were really melting down on the Gaza Strip. And I just [went], 'What is this? When is this gonna stop? Is there something anybody can do about this?' And he [went], 'You could do something about it. You're getting famous. You could do something about it.' And I [went], 'Well, what can we do?' And he [went], 'Think about it. Just give it some thought.' About a few weeks later, I thought, what if we went to some place, like in Jerusalem, but in a no man's land, like by the Wailing Wall, and we'll hold the festival there — where all three major religious groups can gather in peace and bring a community together. The other aspect is the 'global metal' phenomenon. There is metal bands from every country on earth. This could be represented totally by the genre itself. ANVIL is rocking and we're cruising, and this will be something that we're doing as well."

Listen to the audio of the interview here

ANVIL's first documentary, "Anvil! The Story of Anvil", was named one of 2009's best documentaries by a slew of film critics associations across the continent, including critics in Chicago, San Francisco, Toronto, and Las Vegas, as well as the International Documentary Association, the Online Film Critics Society, and the National Society of Film Critics. It also made the year-end Top 10 lists in publications such as the New York Times, Washington Post, Newsweek, and Village Voice.

Lita Ford ‘Living Like A Runaway’ album to be available in four configurations + track listing and cover art

Lita Ford ‘Living Like A Runaway’ album to be available in four configurations + track listing and cover art

Legendary female rocker Lita Ford's new album 'Living Like A Runaway' will be released on June 19th in North America via SPV/Steamhammer in four configurations: a double LP, limited edition CD, standard CD and digital download.

Lita Ford has teamed up with producer Gary Hoey and lyricist Michael Dan Ehmig to work on the new recording. Together the team invested a lot of time and effort into this kick ass project: "We worked on the lyrics intensively to really give the songs a lot of meaning and that special emotional depth. I think that these are some of the best lyrics ever, period." Ford is referring to numbers such as 'Devil In My Head,' 'Hate,' and 'The Asylum' which see her bare her soul in a way which she has never done before.

Unlike many albums today, 'Living Like A Runaway' is an album that truly must be heard in its entirety from start to finish. "Listeners shouldn't pick out individual tracks but listen to the full album," says Ford. "It's a fascinating musical journey, inspired by Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon. I had seen a documentary about Dark Side Of The Moon and it really motivated me to focus on Living Like A Runaway as a whole journey rather just an individual song."
