Bryan Adams has made his mark in the world of music, now he continues his reach in the world of photography. After the success of his previous photo book 'Exposed,' which featured his photos of music artists, actors and models over the years, Adams has a new book with an entirely different angle, 'Wounded: The Legacy of War.'
In the new book he presents portraits of young British soldiers who have suffered life-changing injury in Iraq and Afghanistan or during training. His lens bares witness to their scars, disability and disfigurement. This unexpected directness challenges the viewer. At the same time the images reveal the sheer grit and bravery of the victims who, despite personal sacrifice, live each day with continued vim, vigour and dignity. What we see are staggering portraits of inspiring individuals who whilst not faltering have stood the test of war and lived to tell the tale. The images come with haunting interviews which provide a narrative to each personal journey to recovery. This 192 page hardbound book will be in stores November 11th and available to pre-order now on Amazon.com

Due to ongoing health issues, Nazareth frontman Dan McCafferty has been forced to retire. A statement on the band's facebook page states:
"We sadly have to tell you all that Dan has been forced to retire due to ill health. He suffers from C.O.P.D. (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). It has gotten worse lately and after trying to play a festival in Switzerland last weekend Dan found it impossible to continue after performing only three songs.
In the dressing room afterwards he told the band that he couldn’t go on any longer. We’ll keep you updated on further developments."
McCafferty collapsed onstage this past July 9 after the band's first song, and then again on Aug. 24, after reportedly complaining of shortness of breath at the Summerdays Festival in Switzerland.
There is no word on when or if Nazareth will complete the new studio album they have currently been recording, but after 45 years, it looks as if Nazareth will be no longer. The most important thing is the health of McCafferty, and MarshallofRock.com wishes him all the best in his battle. Thanks for everything Dan.
Last November and December, Megadeth blazed hot on the band’s “Countdown To Extinction 20th Anniversary Tour,” ripping through their entire double platinum 1992 album from start to finish before performing other classics from their recorded catalog. On September 24 (September 23 outside of North America), Tradecraft/UMe will release 'Countdown To Extinction: Live,' a definitive document of the acclaimed, sold-out tour. Recorded and filmed at Los Angeles’ Fox Theatre last December, Countdown To Extinction: Live will be available in several video and audio configurations, including deluxe Blu-ray/CD, DVD, CD, Digital Album, Mastered for iTunes Album, and Longform Digital Video.
In addition to Megadeth’s blistering performance of the entire Countdown To Extinction album, including the essential “Symphony Of Destruction,” “Foreclosure Of A Dream,” “Sweating Bullets,” and “Skin O’ My Teeth,” Countdown To Extinction: Live features all of the other Megadeth classics the band performed at the epic concert, including “Holy Wars” and “Hangar 18” from 1990’s Rust In Peace, “Peace Sells” from the band’s influential, platinum certified 1986 album, Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?, and “Trust” from 1997’s platinum certified Cryptic Writings.
Megadeth’s fifth studio album, Countdown To Extinction was recorded in Los Angeles in 1992. American tensions weren’t limited to LA, as the Gulf War was still fresh in people’s minds, the state of the environment was becoming headline news, and out of this turmoil, Megadeth was inspired to create Countdown To Extinction, considered by many to be the band’s best and most accessible album. None of their previous records were as polemical as the sonic missiles launched by ‘Countdown.’ Megadeth laced the songs with acid-tongued commentary about subjects ranging from the futility of war (“Architecture Of Aggression”) to the senseless brutality of caged hunting (“Countdown To Extinction”). “Foreclosure Of A Dream” sampled George Bush’s infamous “Read my lips” speech, making a statement about taxation endangering the American Dream.
In November 2012, Capitol released an expanded and remastered 20th Anniversary Edition of Countdown To Extinction, personally overseen by Mustaine. The 2CD lift-top box and digital release pairs the remastered original album with an exclusive, previously unreleased 1992 concert, recorded live at San Francisco’s Cow Palace.
In a career nearing 30 years, Megadeth has sold more than 38 million albums worldwide, earning five consecutive platinum albums and numerous accolades along the way, including 11 GRAMMY® nominations. The band’s latest studio album, Super Collider, reunites Mustaine once again with guitarist Chris Broderick, bassist David Ellefson, and drummer Shawn Drover. Released in June, Super Collider debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200, Megadeth’s highest chart debut since 1994’s Youthanasia.

The Scorpions will reissue their 11th studio album 'Crazy World' as a 2CD deluxe version on Universal Music this coming October 7th. 'Crazy World'was originally released in 1990 and contains the worldwide hit "Wind of Change". The package includes 12 live tracks from their ‘Live Crazy’ world tour along with Crazy World’s 4 promotional videos.
It was the Scorpions' first album in a decade and a half to not be produced by Dieter Dierks and is widely considered to be the last "classic" Scorpions album. In the UK, it remains the only Scorpions album to attain certified Silver.
Formed in 1965 The Scorpions are a band who have enjoyed a rich and varied history and in the process selling in excess of 150 million records worldwide. From the psychedelic leanings of debut album ‘Lonesome Crow’ in 1972 through the almost progressive era with guitarist Ulrich Roth for much of the 1970s and onto their most successful period as a more streamlined melodic hard rock band, beginning with the 1979 album ‘Lovedrive’. They strode through the 1980s as one of the biggest and most alluring of all the bands in this genre.
These Germanic gargantuawatt gladiators had three Top 10 albums in the States, beginning with ‘Blackout’ in 1982, continuing on through ‘Love At First Sting’ two years later and followed by ‘Savage Amusement’ in 1988. All three were also Top 20 albums in the UK. The only other album from that period was 1980’s ‘Animal Magnetism’, which continued a commercial climb for the band that had begun with the breakthrough ‘Lovedrive’.
The final album in this remarkable run of success was 1990’s ‘Crazy World’, again one of the great hard rock records of the era and ‘Crazy World’ was the last album to feature bassist Francis Buchholz, and by that extent, the last to to feature the band's classic lineup.
On January 24, 2010, after 45 years of performing, the band announced that they would be retiring after touring in support of their new album ‘Sting in the Tail’, although this decision was eventually retracted and a relief to their may fans worldwide.
