David Lee Roth first ever U.S. television performance with Van Halen happened on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as the band shut down Hollywood Boulevard for a concert before a crowd of about 6,000. The first part of that aired last night, and will continue with taped performances tonight. Dave has grown some hair since his cleanly shaven dome performance for Dave Grohl's birthday bash a couple of months ago, and came away from this show with a nice gash on his nose during their first attempt on "Panama." Watch the mishap and performances below.
Diamond Dave cut himself in the face with a microphone soon after hitting the stage, then pausing the show until he was bandaged up. “I f—ed my nose up with the microphone here,” Roth said. “So we’re gonna start the whole thing over, and give you a little extra for your patience.”

Metalachi made their triumphant return to SLO Brew to kick off their 'Funeral March 2015' tour on Thursday night (March 12). This was their third visit to the venue in downtown San Luis Obispo, California and the crowd was ready for the party as the Metal Mariachi Kings hit the stage, brought on by MC Warren Moscow. I had a chance to talk to the world's only Heavy Metal Mariachi band post show, which you can watch below.
Kicking off their set with 'Rainbow In The Dark,' frontman Vega DeLa Rockha encouraged everyone "to get horny for Ronnie James Dio" as a sea of horns up hands swayed back and forth. The set continued with a wide range of Metalachized versions of tracks by Slayer, Guns N' Roses, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Bon Jovi and many more.
The set also included a special appearance by Ramon Holiday on Sublime's 'Santeria.' Holiday now apparently now owns a coffee shop, which is proving to be quite lucrative for him as he is constantly jacked up on caffeine. For more photos from the show click here.
If you have never seen Metalachi live in concert, do yourself a favor and make your way to the party as the guys not only deliver laughs and get you smiling the entire set, their musicianship is stellar and you will never look at mariachi music the same way again. The band will be returning to the Central California Coast for the Avila Beach Tequila Festival on May 23. For upcoming tour dates in your area and everything Metalachi, go to metalachi.com
I had a chance to drink a cerveza and chat with Metal Mariachi Kings Vega DeLa Rockha, El Cucuy, Nacho Picante, Paco Halen and Pepe Pantera about the kick off of their 'Funeral March' 2015 tour, their recent East coast gigs and shows coming up including the Avila Beach Tequila Festival and OzzFiesta. We also talk about the awesome chi-chi's and who they would eat if starving and stranded on a desert island. Sorry about the audio as it was shot with a tablet and picked up a lot of backround noise.

Locked away for a week in the Swedish outpost of Klippan at Lemon Studios, the Quireboys couldn’t have imagined what would emerge from the most intensive recording process of their careers.
“It was the bleakest place I’ve ever seen,” said guitarist Paul Guerin. “I felt like I was in the Big Brother house,” added Spike. “I never stepped out of the studio – not once. We could have gone stir crazy but we came out of there with a record we never knew was possible.”
“The plan was always to record some new acoustic songs and rework some originals,” added vocalist Spike. “But the plan changed. There was something about that place – the vibe got better and better and we just went with the flow.”
Spike, Paul Guerin, Guy Griffin (guitar) and Keith Weir (keyboards) flew home with 10 new songs and a brand new sound.
The new 4CD set willl also include the band's last release 'Halfpenny Dancer,' and two discs covering the previously unreleased 2010 Halfpenny Dancer live show featuring fiddles, pedal steel, mandolin, banjo and more.
The new album’s title might hark back to the Quireboys’ rootsy legacy but the quality of its music reaffirms a desire to break new ground and grow their sound. The band recently celebrated their 30th anniversary and that rocking vibe continued with the new album.
