Metallica News: 30th Anniversary ‘Kill ‘Em All’ Vans Pack, ‘Nothing Else Matters’ lullaby, new footage from ‘Orion Music + More Festival
Metallica is teaming up with Vans for some rocking footwear due out next year. In honor of the 30th anniversary of Metallica’s first studio album, Kill ‘Em All, Vans is issuing a special edition slip-on and Sk8 Hi. The shoes are expected out next spring/summer of 2013.
The ‘Kill ‘Em All’ Pack will consist of both the Vans Slip On and Sk8 Hi, with each one dressed in the hand and hammer design used for the cover art. Done in red, white and black, the vibrant kicks will give anyone instant rockstar status. Rumors suggest that this won’t be the only album inspired pack to be released under the Vans line.
Check out this viral video of an adorable baby cooing and eventually falling asleep to Metallica’s ‘Nothing Else Matters’ performed by who is presumably the father, playing the chords on his guitar.
The video, which was uploaded in 2010, recently started making its way around the Web with mentions on sites like BuzzFeed and Viral Viral Videos.
Metallica closed out the second night of their Orion Music + More festival with a performance of the self-titled 1991 ‘Black Album.’ New footage has been posted of the band performing ‘My Friend of Misery’ from the festival.
Metallica will be heading to both Canada and Mexico later this summer for more shows, then will begin work on the follow-up to 2008′s ‘Death Magnetic.’
“In the fall, we plan on concentrating a little more on writing songs and doing nothing else but just thinking about the new album,” Kirk Hammett says. “That should be interesting.”
