MR. BIG is back big-time with “Undertow”. Mr. Big’s new studio album, “What If…”, on Frontiers Records, will be out in the U.S. in February. “What If…” is the first album in 16 years with the four original members, Eric Martin, Paul Gilbert, Billy Sheehan and Pat Torpey. “What If…” was produced by Kevin Shirley (Aerosmith, Rush, Iron Maiden) and the release will be followed by a world tour which will kick off in South America in March and will hit Europe in early summer. No word on a U.S. tour as of yet, but we will keep you updated. This f**king rocks, and is an impressive return, to say the least.
Here’s the new Joe Satriani, “Light Years Away”. The song comes off Satriani’s 14th studio album, “Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards”, another kick ass collection of instrumental magnificance. Joe will appear on NBC-TV’s “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” on Monday, November 29, joining Rickey Minor and The Tonight Show Band throughout the entire program and will perform some of his signature songs as well as various rock favorites. Satriani’s North American tour will begin on December 1 in Atlanta, with scheduled dates in Chicago, New York and Boston. The second leg of Satriani’s “Black Swans” tour will begin on January 4, 2011 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, with dates confirmed to follow in Seattle, Portland, the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Reno, Las Vegas and Texas.
In other Joe news, there is another Chickenfoot CD in the works. Back in the spring, Satriani mentioned that one song that the group was working on was called “Come Closer”. Joe has written 10 songs and sent them off to Sammy Hagar
and right now Sammy’s sitting on 14 songs that he’s writing melodies and lyrics to, and the original band will get back together at the end of January to record the second Chickenfoot album.
Here’s “Light Years Away”:
Here’s My Chemical Romance with “Sing” from their new album ‘Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys” which just came out November 22nd, 2010. Great song, great video:
“I don’t hate you, I just want to save you while there’s something left to save”. Here’s Chicago’s Rise Against with “Savior”. I like the animal mosh pit! This originally was released as a single in 2009, but has gotten some new life on rock radio, now back on the mediabase rock chart.
Sacramento’s own Cake is back with “Sick Of You”. Lead singer John McCrea’s trademark half-sung, half-spoken vocals and lyrical wordplay are back on this great track. Cake’s sixth full-length album, “Showroom of Compassion”, is scheduled to be released on January 11, 2011. Their videos are always a trip too!
