Holiday Greetings from Pearl Jam!
A message from Dave Meniketti of Y&T... "I speak for the entire band in thanking you all for an inspiring and unforgettable 2011. Y&T has always been blessed with such amazing fans, and never has this been so apparent to me as it has this year. I'll never forget how so many of you have shown your love and support for us in what has been a difficult year for the band, after having lost my best friend and Y&T bassist Phil Kennemore to lung cancer early in the year. His wish, and mine, was for the band to continue to bring the music to the people. And with this commitment, you all have been so amazing in accepting Brad Lang into the Y&T family and continuing to support the band as we move forward.
Now we all look toward 2012, which also happens to be the 30-year anniversary of the Black Tiger release. Expect many more great shows ahead, along with the possibility of some new things coming out of the Y&T camp this next year. It's looking like another great year ahead and we hope you will be there with us for the ride.
Until then, on behalf of everyone in the Y&T organization, we wish you all a happy, joyful holiday season and a great New Year's. We look forward to rockin' with you all in 2012! Cheers - Dave."

Here's a classic RATT Christmas card that Stephen Pearcy tweeted yesterday:
Dee Snider of Twisted Sister says band is partially responsible for birth of Speed Metal, talks ‘Twisted Christmas’
Twister Sister have had a great 2011 with reissues and special editions over the last year from Eagle Rock Entertainment. In the works are a documentary on the band by Andy Horn, and Dee has a new solo album (Dee Does Broadway) on its way out and an autobiography to come. Twisted Sister has their last annual Christmas show at The Best Buy Theater in New York City next Saturday, December 17.
Dee Snider recently talked to Powerline magazine in the wake of the release of the 5-DVD Twisted Sister collection, 'From the Bars to the Stars.' Dee had this to say: “And people look at me like I have horns when I say it, but I’ll say it again and argue and prove it -- that Twisted Sister is responsible for the birth of speed metal or at least partially responsible. And if you say ‘How?’ I say ‘Simple.’ If you use the live tapes back in the day played at such a high speed, musically, all the cover songs we did -- everything was always sped up. That was purely due to my highly caffeinated state and my mental state. We didn’t realize how fast we were playing. I was the one controlling the speed and I kept screaming ‘Faster…faster!’ Bands like Overkill, Anthrax, Carnivore -- they were out in the crowd in Brooklyn watching Twisted Sister, following Twisted Sister.”
"I’m asked, ‘Why aren’t you doing new music?’ I’m like, ‘I’m not driven. I’m not motivated to do the music anymore.’ I don’t feel it, I don’t have…I mean, I’ve seen this quoted and it’s true. After Stay Hungry I was declawed…well, not declawed. I remember this moment: I was sitting poolside in the ‘80s in a million dollar house with five cars, two boats in the driveway, and I’m sitting by the pool with a f***ing full wallet and I’m thinking about the next song of teen angst. And I’ve got nothing, I’m literally sitting there going. ‘I’m not mad.’ I’m not screaming about we’re gonna make it, and we’re not going to take it, and I wanna rock. I made it, I didn’t take it, and I’ve rocked! And I’ve got nothing. And you continue to write for a couple of years and the song quality was there -- no doubt about it -- my craft was there on Desperado and Widowmaker but what drove me and Twisted Sister to the heights was that gnawing, that fire, that frustration, it was the message in my music.
I’ve talked to a fan who became a big record executive for awhile, now he’s a big Hollywood movie writer, his name is Brian Kauffman. He had seen Twisted Sister 45 times, and I asked him ‘Why did you come to see us 45 times?’ And in a moment of idiot savant, he goes, ‘Because I believed you believed.’ I was like ‘What the hell does that mean?’ He said, ‘You were so convinced when I saw you on that stage. You were so convinced you were going to be the biggest thing since sliced bread. I had no choice but to believe in you.’ And, again, going back to what I like about these bands, hearing that moment in time when they believe they have nothing to lose, and will take out anybody who tries to get in their way.” Read the entire interview here.
Here's some Artison News Service reports on the 5-disc box set and
Gotta give it up for Dee Snider, recording artist, actor, author, broadway star, and reality rocker. You may have been hearing about Dee and the new Celebrity Apprentice cast hitting the street of New York City performing some of the tasks the Donald has "Trumped" out.
It's been announced that the two-hour premiere of the new season of The Celebrity Apprentice will air on Sunday, February 12, from 9-11pm (Eastern) on NBC. Dee Snider will reportedly be going head-to-head with other contestants (each playing for their chosen charity) including Clay Aiken (American Idol singer); Marco Andretti (race car driver); Adam Carolla (comedian); Tia Carrere (actress); Lou Ferrigno (actor); Debbie Gibson (singer); Teresa Giudice (from Real Housewives of New Jersey); Victoria Gotti (mob wife/reality TV star); Arsenio Hall (actor/comedian); Penn Jillette (magician); Lisa Lampanelli (comedienne); Dayana Mendoza (Miss Universe 2008) Aubrey O'Day (former Danity Kane singer); George Takei (actor/Mr. Sulu of Star Trek); Paul Teutul, Sr. (motorcycle designer/TV star); Cheryl Tiegs (model/actress) and Patricia Velásquez (model/actress). Dee made an appearance on last year's Celebrity Apprentice, appearing in a retro 7up commericial for John Rich's (Big & Rich) team.
ABC’s Celebrity Wife Swap premieres Tuesday, January 3rd at 9pm. It's the new celeb version of the hit reality series Wife Swap. Dee's wife Suzette Snider will be featured in an episode, trading places with Flavor Flav’s better half, Liz. Here's a photo of Suzette with Flav at his book signing a few months back.
A Twisted Christmas, the annual theatrical holiday extravaganza takes place tonight (Dec. 2) at the Paramount Theater in Huntington, New York, and the Best Buy Theater in New York City on Saturday, December 17th.
Dee Snider, Jay Jay French, Mark Mendoza, Eddie Ojeda and A.J. Pero have crafted this show into a hell-raisin' holiday tradition. In the past, they've had such wildly disparate personalities as Lita Ford, Mick Foley, and MINIKISS join the onstage festivities. You never know who will crash this NYC party.
After the release of 2006's "A Twisted Christmas" album (hailed by the Associated Press as "[one of] the best hard rock Christmas album[s] ever made, and one of the best rock 'n' roll Christmas albums — period — since Elvis made his"), Twisted Sister brought the metal merriment to the stage. They have continued to give these Yuletide anthems a Twisted treatment ever since. White Christmas, Come All Ye Faithful and Deck The Halls have never sounded so electric.
"If you told me 30 years ago that one day I would be playing Christmas songs, with Twisted Sister, for families in concert — and be happy about it — I would have punched you right in the nose," says frontman Dee Snider. "Funny how life changes you. Now I'm actually looking forward to it!" Added guitarist Jay Jay French: "There is no better way to blow your Christmas bonus than by seeing A Twisted Christmas on Broadway. It's so good, even atheists love it!"
The Paramount Theater is located at 370 New York Avenue in Huntington, New York. The show starts as 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices range from $52 to $74. The Best Buy Theater is located at 1515 Broadway at West 44th Street, right in the heart of Times Square. The show starts at 8:00 p.m. (doors open at 5:00 p.m.) Tickets are $35.
