Loverboy are set to release the new album 'Rock 'n' Roll Revival' on August 14th. It feature 12 tracks, including updated versions of the Canadian rockers best and most well known songs and three brand-new tunes
The three new songs inlude the title track, 'Heartbreaker' and 'No Tomorrow.' The latter two cuts were recorded at Bryan Adams' studio, The Warehouse, in Vancouver, Canada, with Loverboy's old engineer Bob Rock. Rock was the engineer/mixer of the 'Loverboy' album in 1980, 'Get Lucky' in 1981, 'Keep It Up' in 1983, and 'Wildside' in 1987. He also engineered Paul Dean's solo album 'Hard Core' in 1989. Rock went on to produce albums for Aerosmith, Metallica, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, The Cult, David Lee Roth, Skid Row, Blue Murder, Kingdon Come, the Offspring, Bush and many more. Bob will also be handling production chores on the next Motley Crue album.
"The new songs on this album are in the same spirit as our classic material," said founding guitarist Paul Dean. "And, the track 'Rock 'n' Roll Revival' brought [lead singer] Mike Reno and me back to our collaborative spirit of the '80s."
Dean added, "As far as the classic hits on the album, these songs are reflective of the evolution of our past 30 years of playing them live."

Former Fleetwood Mac guitarist and vocalist Bob Welch, who also had a solo career, sadly has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Nashville, TN. Police spokesman Don Aaron said the 65 year old Welch was found dead with a chest wound by his wife at their Nashville home around 12:15 p.m. Thursday (June 7).
Aaron said Welch apparently had had health issues recently and that he left a suicide note. Welch was a guitarist and vocalist for Fleetwood Mac from 1971 to 1974, and a part of the albums 'Future Games' (1971), 'Bare Trees' (1972), and 'Mystery to Me' (1973). Those albums weren’t immediate commercial successes, but eventually they went achieved Gold or Platinum certification in the U.S.
After leaving Fleetwood Mac, he formed the British rock group Paris in 1976, then had solo hits including 'Sentimental Lady' in 1977 from the album 'French Kiss.' 'Sentimental Lady' was originally recorded as a Fleetwood Mac song in 1972, and his solo version included Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham on backing vocals. He also had a solo hit with 'Ebony Eyes' in 1978.
Welch was not included among the members of Fleetwood Mac when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. At the time he told the Cleveland Plain Dealer, "It was an important period in the history of the band. Mick Fleetwood dedicated a whole chapter of his biography to my era of the band and credited me with 'saving Fleetwood Mac.' Now they want to write me out of the history of the group. It hurts."
Many musicians have paid tribute to Bob via Twitter, including Nikki Sixx, Michael DesBarres, Bryan Adams, Foghat and the Roots’/Late Night With Jimmy Fallon's ?uestlove:
R.I.P. Bob and thanks for all the wonderful music and memories. Our heartfelt condolences go out ot his family and friends.

The site was down on April 18th when it was announced that Dick Clark had passed away, and although I did a post on the Marshall of Rock Facebook page, I wanted to do a full video tribute to Dick on the site. Today Paul Stanley posted this today about attending Dick Clark's Memorial:
The legend of the incredible music and television icon Dick Clark will always live on. I grew up watching American Bandstand, and even though I'm a rock guy, I appreciate all music in general and thoroughly enjoyed what he brought into my world. Thank you Dick. Here's some of the best rock moments from AB. He even had Y&T and Dokken on AB.

The 3,000-square-foot home, which rests on a quarter acre of land, has two bedrooms and 3½ bathrooms. Located on the water in a nature preserve area near Wailea, the pentagonal home has several outdoor decks overlooking the coastline. There's also a floor-to-ceiling aquarium and an infinity-edge saltwater pool. Can I be your caretaker while you're gone Steve? I'd be glad to do it.
Yes, it's another Steven Tyler 'Creepy Leer of the Night' from American Idol on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' on January 19. In case you've missed them, it's a tradition started last year by Kimmel, and they are hilarious.
