Megadeth will perform "Countdown To Extinction", the bands best-selling album to date, in its entirety on September 7th at Teatro Caupolican in Santiago, Chile.
'Countdown To Extinction', the band's 5th LP, was released in July of 1992 by Capitol Records and was certified double-platinum by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association Of America) for sales of two million copies. The album featured the band's most successful tracks, 'Symphony Of Destruction,' 'Sweating Bullets,' 'Skin O' My Teeth' and 'Foreclosure Of A Dream.'
Megadeth will tour the U.S. this summer on a co-headlining stint with Rob Zombie.

Iron Maiden will release 'En Vivo!' this Tuesday, March 27 in Blu-ray, double DVD, double CD and digital download formats. The two-DVD version will be released in a Collector’s Steel Book and also released as a double vinyl picture disc. Check out the new promo trailer for the limited edition metallic steel configuration below.
'En Vivo!' was filmed in front of 50,000 fired up Maiden freaks at the Estadio National Santiago on April 10, 2011 during the Round The World in 66 Days leg of 'The Final Frontier World Tour.'
The trailer shows off the packaging, then kicks into performance footage from the Chilean concert, including a gigantic version of Maiden mascot Eddie, who makes his way onstage during the band’s performance of the track 'Iron Maiden.'
"En Vivo!", the new concert Blu-Ray, two-DVD set and double soundtrack album from Iron Maiden will be released March 26. It was filmed on April 10, 2011 in front of over 50,000 fans at the Estadio Nacional, Santiago during the "Round The World In 66 Days" leg of 'The Final Frontier World Tour.'
It tures a magnificent performance by the band, ardently embraced by the legendary Latino passion and energy of their Chilean fans. With spectacular stage backdrops, dynamic musicianship and a literally jaw-dropping appearance by Eddie, this live show encapsulates to perfection the heart and soul of Iron Maiden 2011.
22 HD cameras filmed the concert digitally, including an octocam, a flying camera which captures aerial crowd scenes. It was recorded in both stereo and 5.1 audio and mixed by Iron Maiden's longstanding producer Kevin "Caveman" Shirley. Split screens are used so fans can follow the individual members closer and the set list moves seamlessly between songs from Maiden's most recent studio album, 2010's "The Final Frontier", through to classic fan favourites via the band's vast and varied catalog.
DVD Disc Two is a bonus disc containing an 88-minute documentary, 'Behind The Beast.' This is an in-house production led by Andy Matthews, and is intended as an interesting and revealing high-quality "home movie" for their fans of how to put on an Iron Maiden tour and what goes on behind the scenes at a show. It illustrates the day-to-day life and complex tasks of the Maiden Killer Krew and the other characters behind the scenes. The bonus disc also contains an extended version of the promo video 'Satellite 15...The Final Frontier,' a video about the making of 'Satellite 15...The Final Frontier' plus the opening video sequence to 'The Final Frontier World Tour.'
Besides being available on Blu-Ray, the two-DVD will initially be available as a limited-edition double DVD in a collectors steel book case and double vinyl picture disc. A two-CD soundtrack album, "En Vivo!" will be available as a digital download CD soundtrack album and digital download video as well.

Tom Araya and Dave Lombardo of Slayer took part in a press conference on Thursday, June 2 at Hotel Ritz-Carlton in Santiago, Chile before the band's performance that night at the city's Movistar Arena.
Tom Araya was actually born in Viña del Mar, Chile and was asked during the press conference about the plans for him to return to his birthplace at this end of this past week to receive the key to the city from Mayor Virginia Reginato. "I think it's awesome," Araya — who left the country when he was five years old and moved to the U.S. with his family — said. "I'm kind of speechless; I don't what to say. They're probably gonna change the locks when they give me the key. [Laughs] It's an honor. I think it's great. I don't have a reply. I'm more speechless than anything. It's not something I expected. That's never happened before. You see other people receive rewards like that, but it's usually people of political status or someone that's really done something for the community or done something important. I'm excited. I don't know what to expect. . . All I can say is: thank you. That's about it."
