Bobbie Brown, the ‘Cherry Pie’ video girl to release tell-all book, star in new reality series ‘Ex-Wifes Rock’
Bobbie Brown, most famous for her appearance in Warrant's 'Cherry Pie' video, is set to release a 248-page tell-all book in early 2013 via 4th Street Media. After winning a spokemodel competition on 'Star Search,' Bobbie landed on the Sunset Strip, eventually becoming a video vixen, and hooking up with th likes of Tommy Lee, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kevin Costner, Slash, Dave Navarro and more. Here's a description of the book:
"Before American Idol there was Star Search. Before there were sex tapes, there were sexy videos. And before there was Pamela Anderson, there was Bobbie Brown. 'Sex, Drugs, And Cherry Pie' is the outrageous true story of a Louisiana beauty queen who became an L.A. Goddess, and the dozens of celebrity encounters, rock stars, and tumultuous affairs that followed - Tommy Lee, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kevin Costner, Slash, Dave Navarro, and more. In 1989, America tuned in each week to hear Ed McMahon announce Bobbie Brown as their choice as Spokesmodel Champion. She soon landed on the Sunset Strip, and the dream girl seemed to be on her way to a dream life, taking Hollywood by storm as the ultimate video vixen in Warrant's infamous 'Cherry Pie' video. Her future seemed as bright as her smile, but the world of privilege and adoration was filled with demons, drugs, and a downward spiral of self-destruction. In 'Sex, Drugs, and Cherry Pie,' Bobbie takes us on a journey of debauchery, excess, fame, and hair products; detailing how touring the world with music royalty can sometimes lead down a rocky road towards redemption."
Brown has just finished filming a new reality television series titled 'Ex Wives Rock,' which debuts August 29th on the Slice network. The show is co-produced by Loraine Lewis (Femme Fatale) with narration by reality show vet Shannon Tweed-Simmons (Gene Simmons Family Jewels).
'Ex Wives Rock' features Brown, Athena Lee (ex-James Kottak of Scorpions and sister of Tommy Lee), Susan Dixon (ex-Jerry Dixon of Warrant) and Sharise Neil (ex-Vince Neil). During the course of the series, the cast spends time at locations including the Rainbow Bar & Grill on West Hollywood’s Sunset Strip and Brown struggles with the passing of Jani Lane, who died during the filming of one of the episodes.
Henry Rollins recruits members of Slipknot, Anthrax, Slayer and Jane’s Addiction for upcoming benefit concert
After having the honor to host the Black Sabbath reunion press conference, Henry Rollins (Rollins Band, ex-Black Flag) has recruited quite a lineup for an upcoming benefit concert in Hollywood. Slipknot and Stone Sour's Corey Taylor, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian, Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro and members of Rob Zombie‘s band, including guitarist John 5, will all be a part of the benefit Nov. 30 at the Avalon Theater in Hollywood, Calif.
The proceeds from the show will go to Drop In the Bucket, a Los Angeles and Gulu, Uganda, based nonprofit organization that constructs water wells and sanitation systems at large rural schools in sub-Saharan Africa.
Rollins has traveled to Africa to observe Drop in the Bucket’s lifesaving operations.”Drop in the bucket is trying to make things better,” Rollins said. “There’s no profit incentive here. It’s only about getting people to water and keeping them alive and healthy.”
Corey Taylor, who is currently on an acoustic/spoken word tour, said was honored to be asked to perform at the event.”In a time when money is suspect, and politics looks a lot like schoolyard bullying, people forget that there are far greater issues going on in the world,” he said. “Millions of people live without water on a daily basis when we as Americans treat it like used tissue paper. It’s only common sense to think that if I can do something to not only help, but also raise awareness, then that’s exactly what I’m going to do. Drop in the Bucket is one of the most important and selfless causes I have ever had the privilege to be a part of. And I can only hope that I do some good for it. And to be able to do that by putting on an awesome show with friends like Roy Mayorga, Scott Ian and John 5 just shows how good this business can be sometimes.”
Artist Shepard Fairey, who designed the exclusive poster for the event, will DJ the show, and Kate Flannery of ‘The Office’ will perform a comedy routine with her lounge spoof the Lampshades.

The supergroup featuring Sammy Hagar, guitar wizard Joe Satriani, ex-Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith that started as a tequila-soaked jam session in Mexico and went on to sell 500,000 copies of its 2009 debut LP are back with the new track "Big Foot".
It's from the upcoming album "Chickenfoot III", produced by Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Metallica). The album will be released on September 27. Chickenfoot have auditioned numerous drummers, but have not made a decision on who will be pounding the skins for them on tour as of yet.

Here's the new ZZ Top track "Flyin' High". ZZ Top have been working on their new album with producer Rick Rubin, and it will be released before the end of the year.
“It sounds and feels like ‘Tres Hombres,’ with a few elements of the ‘Eliminator’ period thrown in,” says Billy Gibbons. “A pretty wide range, from basic blues to slightly more fancy stuff.” ZZ Top recorded at Shangri La Studios in Malibu, California with engineer Dave Sardy (Oasis, Jet). The trio then moved back to Texas, to Foam Box Recordings in Houston, with long-time engineer Joe Hardy. "It was the Sardy and Hardy party," added Gibbons.
It's good to have ZZ Top back with a new track. It is what you would expect from the trio, and I like the sound of it. Hooking up with Rick Rubin on this project has given ZZ Top a new determination and motivation. Check it out:
ZZ Top continue on tour through August and September. ZZ Top's website is currently under construction, so get the dates here.
Papa Roach have released the third track from their latest album "Time For Annihilation", called "No Matter What". The Vacaville, California rockers have had a successful run with this album, getting significant airplay with previous tracks "Kick In The Teeth" and "Burn".
Papa Roach have toured behind the album seemingly for an indefinite time, and they'll be back on the road August 24 in Grand Prairie, Texas as part of the "Rock Allegiance Tour" with Buckcherry and Puddle Of Mudd for multiple dates.
