This is awesome! Fifteen-year-old YouTube sensation Sungha Jung sat down to play his version of the Rolling Stones‘ 1966 hit ‘Paint it Black.’ Jung doesn’t sing, but he plucks the bass line, strums the rythym guitar part and sings the melody … all at once. Two-thirds of the way through the song he adds some percussion before bringing the song to a climax and letting the music fade away.
Jung has versions of 'I Remember You' by Skid Row, ‘Take on Me‘ by A-Ha, The Beatles ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps‘ (filmed in 2006) and the Super Mario Brothers theme song and more on youtube. He’s also released an album of 18 of his favorites, and he is touring America this fall with Trace Bundy. His Facebook page also has over 220,000 fans.
Actor Jeremy Piven celebrated Sunday’s series finale of ‘Entourage’ by slammin' the skins at a Road Recovery benefit concert honoring Slash Tuesday in New York. The man famous for playing Ari Gold sat in with a Rolling Stones tribute band to perform the band’s classic ‘Miss You.’ The night featured a semi-reunion of the touring lineup of the ‘Use Your Illusion’-era Guns N’ Roses, with Slash, Matt Sorum, Duff McKagan and Gilby Clarke hitting the stage for a rare performance together. You go Ari!
