Slash and the Conspirators new line of action figures now available

Staramba, a company touting itself as “pioneers of photorealistic 3D printed figurines [of] both … celebrities as well as ordinary people,” has released a new line of figures dedicated to Slash and his band, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. The entire band figures are featured on a black base plate in front of the artwork for their most recent studio album, 'World on Fire.' Members are also available for sale individually.

“It’s a very strange thing to have a figure of myself available out there,” wrote bassist Todd Kerns in a blog post on his site. “I’m the guy that has Johnny Ramone, Lemmy, Iggy Pop and Johnny Rotten jamming together on his dresser in action figure form. Strange times, brothers and sister. Strange and exciting times.”

This will be the second company to create a Slash figure, as McFarlane Toys unveiled one back in 2005, depicting him playing guitar in his leather jacket and signature top hat as well as a deluxe model, which added an extra amp and speaker cabinets.

Check out the entire line of figures here.

Rock Picks of the Week: Alter Bridge, Beware of Darkness, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Halestorm, Los Lonely Boys

Rock Picks of the Week: Alter Bridge, Beware of Darkness, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Halestorm, Los Lonely Boys

Already one of the most respected and popular acts in rock, Alter Bridge are back with the new track 'Addicted To Pain' from the band's new album 'Fortress.' The new album is due out October 8 in the USA and September 30th for the rest of the world. The album is their first new studio album in three years, and features twelve tracks that are sure to take Alter Bridge to an even bigger level if that is possible.

Myles Kennedy (vocals), Mark Tremonti (guitar), Brian Marshall (bass) and Scott Phillips (drums) enlisted their long-time producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette, known for his work with Falling In Reverse, Story Of The Year and Incubus to once again deliver another great album of hard and heavy rock, along with tracks that show the softer side of the band and the beautiful vocal melodies.

Alter Bridge will play one U.S. tour date on October 4th at the House of Blues in Orlando, Florida, before embarking on a European tour that will run from October 16th through November 16 and feature Shinedown and Halestorm joining the band on select dates.

Guitarist Mark Tremonti said about the project, "When we started pre-production on this album, we pushed ourselves harder and further than we ever have previously in order to make the most out of every individual arrangement. We wanted this album to be our most unpredictable and exciting one yet. From the early feedback we have received, it looks like we have achieved what we set out to do."

I'm sure the results will show that Mark is right, as Alter Bridge are set to be dominant in the rock world once again and are going to have a huge 2013-14!!

Beware of Darkness are a new power trio consisting of vocalist/guitarist Kyle Nicolaides, bassist Daniel Curcio, and drummer Tony Cupito. The band's track 'Howl' has an indie spirit, with an in your face retro vibe that I and apparently many others are digging, as the track is currently in the top 5 of the Mainstream rock and Active rock charts in the U.S. It comes from the band's new album 'Orthodox.'

Beware of Darkness came together in 2010 after Kyle Nicolaides met Tony Cupito at one of Kyle's shows in downtown Los Angeles. The two began playing shows with various bass players until they met Daniel Curcio, who was visiting Santa Monica after finding out he had a long lost half brother living there. Nicolaides then signed a record deal with Bright Antenna Records and the band started opening up shows for the likes of Social Distortion and The Wombats. They have since opened for Tegan and Sara, Stone Temple Pilots, Bush, Deftones and played at the 2012 & 2013 SXSW Festival.

In July, Beware of Darkness opened up for The Smashing Pumpkins on their European tour and are currently on the Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival in the U.S. with Alice In Chains, Jane's Addiction, Coheed and Cambria, Walking Papers, Danko Jones and more.

A band with a big future, I am expected a good run with the new album from the band and touring well into 2014.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd will be releasing his first studio album in 7 years "Fight For My Soul" on September 2nd in the UK and Europe through Mascot Label Group and on September 17th in U.S. and Canada with Concord Music Group. Lang worked on the release for three years with Producer Tommy Sims, who co-wrote Eric Clapton's Grammy winning "Change the World."

Lang says about the album, "Much of what I've experienced through music and life in general is in these songs. I really like reaching out and connecting with people. For me, this is what it's all about. It keeps it fresh with different experiences every day."

"This particular record has taken quite a long time to finish for a lot of different reasons, Lang added. "Most of all, I started having kids a few years back. Between being with the family, and being out on the road touring, the last thing you want to do when home is to go make a record. I'm really happy with the body of work we have for this one. It's kind of hard to be excited and know what the record going to be like when the process is extended over such a long period of time. Today, sitting here, I'm really proud of the recordings.""

Since the release of his 1997 major label debut "Lie To Me", the then 16 year-old Lang has built a reputation as one of the best live performers and guitarists of his generation.  The exciting new album should broaden his appeal and bring in new fans, while keeping the core he already has.

The first track released from the album, 'Blew Up (The House),' showcases the stellar vocals of Lang and the musicianship of his band, along with a Clapton vibe that you can really feel from the production work of Sims.

Halestorm have had one hell of a 2012-13 behind their 'The Strange Case Of...' album and frontwoman Lzzy Hale has firmly entrenched herself as one of, if not THE predominant leading woman in rock. The band were also awarded their first Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance this past February, some exciting recognition for the well deserved and constantly touring Pennsylvania band.

'Here's To Us' looks to be the last single from the current album and in the video for the song, Halestorm are initially transformed into a '8o's band with the big hair, spandex and eyeliner. That is followed by the band in grunge era attire, then the band wrap up the video for the track as they are, showing an appreciation for what has come before and influenced them. The video serves as a thank you for the fantastic last couple of years it has been.

The band released the following statement about the track and video:
"Here's to Us" is a song that we wrote for Us, About Us. It was the last song written for our record The Strange Case Of... Halestorm , and one that means the most personally. We've had a hell of a year, with a few number ones, a grammy, etc... plus this year marks our Tenth year as a foursome! We've been through a lot together as a band, and have always appreciated the low times as well as the high times, because it's about the journey for us. This sentiment has seeped its way into our fans base, who we've become very close to. It's been wonderful to hear the stories every night of what "Here's To Us" means to them! And also our road family, some of these wonderful people, including Maria Brink from In This Moment, Miles Kennedy of Alterbridge/The Conspirators, James Michael from Sixx Am, Brent Smith from Shinedown, Tyler Connolly from Theory Of A Deadman, David Draiman from Disturbed/Device, and of course Slash himself have joined us for special versions of this song!

The video is a little bit of everything Halestorm: we laughed our asses off, and also got a little emotional while filming it! We hope you enjoy it and that this song burrows itself deep inside your heart! From all of us in Halestorm, Thank You to all the Freaks and all the people that have made our Dream possible! Love you all!

- Lzzy, Arejay, Joe and Josh

We love you too...keep kicking ASS!

Los Lonely Boys are back with a new track 'Blame It On Love.' Guitarist Henry Garza recently told antimusic.com that the song "It is the first taste of this batch of new music we have recorded during our touring breaks. We picked this track to be the first to be released because we felt that this song really took us back to our Texican roots, and it was a song that almost anyone could connect with. The real inspiration behind this song was love, and we were looking for a way to say that love is the reason for everything. In all honesty, who hasn't had a situation where they could blame the outcome on love!? If we really pay attention, everything we do is motivated by love.

As for the actual recording of the track, the track was recorded in Austin, TX at Bismeaux Studios. We worked on this track with Don Gehman, and that was awesome. He has worked with so many greats (John Mellencamp, R.E.M.), and it was a humbling experience to be in the studio with him. Don just has a way of knowing how to make a track pop, and he did that with "Blame It On Love."

Overall, it was a great experience laying this track down, and we are very excited to share this new collection of songs. We are extremely blessed to continue to have the opportunity to spread the gospel of Texican rock and roll, and we hope that you like what you hear!"

The brother Garza will be touring through the rest of the Summer, with concerts booked into November. Get all the dates at loslonelyboys.com

Slash to release soundtrack album for his first-ever upcoming movie, ‘Nothing Left To Fear’ (video)

by on Jul.20, 2013, under CD/DVD RELEASES, ROCK NEWS, VIDEO

Slash to release soundtrack album for his first-ever upcoming movie, ‘Nothing Left To Fear’ (video)

SLASH, the Grammy-winning guitarist, will release the soundtrack album for the first-ever motion picture he has co-produced, Nothing Left To Fear, on October 4, the same day the film opens in select theaters. The Nothing Left To Fear Original Motion Picture Soundtrack was written and produced by SLASH and Nick O’Toole. It includes the film score plus two original songs: “Nothing Left To Fear” which features vocalist Myles Kennedy and the instrumental “Welcome To Stull".

The album will be released exclusively at PledgeMusic.com/slash , giving fans access to interviews, song streams, first looks at film art, clips and more. When fans pledge and pre-order the album, they will gain access to one-of-a-kind experiences with SLASH, as well as merchandise for the film. For more information on all packages available, click PledgeMusic.com/slash.

Slash stated, "It's been equally intriguing for me to be involved with producing, writing and performing the music in Nothing Left To Fear. Film scoring prompts me to engage different styles of writing and guitar playing that don't always present themselves when I make Rock n Roll records."

Due in select theaters Friday, October 4 and available on Blu-ray Combo-pack, DVD and On Demand starting Tuesday, October 8. Nothing Left To Fear is a harrowing tale in the spirit of the terrifying horror films of the 1970s. The movie is inspired by the legend of Stull, Kansas, which is surrounded by Internet folklore proclaiming the town to be one of the Seven Gateways to Hell. Wendy (Anne Heche), her husband Dan (James Tupper of Revenge) and their kids have just moved to the small town of Stull, Kansas, where Dan is the new pastor. But in this sleepy community of friendly neighbors, a horrific series of occurrences awaits them: Their teenage daughter (Rebekah Brandes of Bellflower) is being tormented by grisly visions. Her younger sister (Jennifer Stone of Wizards Of Waverly Place) has been marked for a depraved ritual. And deep within the heartland darkness, one of The Seven Gates Of Hell demands the blood of the innocent to unleash the creatures of the damned. Ethan Peck (10 Things I Hate About You) and Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption) co-star in this demonic shocker featuring original music by producer SLASH and inspired by the real-life paranormal legacy of Stull. Nothing Left To Fear is the first film from Rock and Roll Hall of Famer SLASH’s production company, Slasher Films, and was written by Jonathon W.C. Mills and directed by Anthony Leonardi III.

"As a long-time fan of the Horror genre, I want to produce films that are in an older tradition of the genre,” relates SLASH. “That is to say, films that leave more to one's imagination, that are psychologically scary and character-driven, and what scares you is more cerebral than superficial. Slasher Films is my vehicle to realize that aim, and Nothing Left To Fear is the first film with more to come."

Rock Picks of the Week: Soundgarden, Stone Sour, Halestorm, Tom Keifer, Adler, Love & Death, Slash

Rock Picks of the Week: Soundgarden, Stone Sour, Halestorm, Tom Keifer, Adler, Love & Death, Slash

Soundgarden starts off rock picks with their Dave Grohl directed video for 'By Crooked Steps.' It's the second single from the new album 'King Animal', and a comedic look at the band as segway gang. The band strap on the helmets and make their way through town, sporting the attitude to go along with the segway domination.

Soundgarden are near wrapping up their U.S. tour, with multiple gig in Oakland  and Los Angeles, CA. The band will be filming the last show of the U.S. tour at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles for "Live from the Artists Den," and will also be giving away round-trip airfare & tickets for one fan & a guest to attend the Feb 17th show. To Enter the contest just go to: http://bitly.com/SGArtistsDen.

The band will also be playing some festivals, including Carolina Rebellion and Rock On The Range during May. Soundgarden will likely be taking a break when the tour wraps up, with drummer Matt Cameron on to finish and album with Pearl Jam follow with a tour.

Another great track from Corey Taylor and Stone Sour is next, as 'Do Me A Favor', from 'House of Gold & Bones Part 2", is kicking ass in rock picks this week. It's an epic track with everything you would want: adrenaline, melody, meaningful lyrics and an epic vibe. Stone Sour are at the top of the list for great current rock and both albums, videos, an online presence, album packaging, the live show and a graphic novel all contribute to one amazing project!

Stone Sour are currently on tour with Papa Roach in the U.S., and will be playing multiple festivals this Spring and Summer. Check out everything Stone Sour at their official website here.

Recent Grammy winners Halestorm are back in rock picks with their top 5 track for 'Freak Like Me', from their album 'The Strange Case Of...'. Lzzy Hale and the guys have had one hell of a 2012, carrying in 2013 and capping off with a Grammy win for Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Performance for 'Love Bites (So Do I)'. The band have have released a new "thank you" video version of the song for fans that documents their past year. Watch that at Rollingstone.com

Tom Keifer of multi-platinum band Cinderella has released the first single from his upcoming solo album 'The Way Life Goes'. 'The Flower Song' has been described as having the feel of a vintage Faces cut, with a 'Maggie May' feel. I can hear it and I like it.

'The Way Life Goes' is set for release on April 30th. To says about the track: "To me, that song is about how unbelievable it is that you're able to find that one person that's perfect for you. Obviously, it's told from the perspective of a guy, but I think it's true for both men and women: When you find that one person, it's a miracle."

Keifer wrote the song with Jim Peterik, formerly of the bands Survivor and the Ides of March. Another track, 'Solid Ground', is set to be released on March 11th.

"The Flower Song is one aspect of the record," Keifer says. "The record ranges from that more acoustic side to hard-driving, high-energy rock songs, and everything in between. It's a pretty diverse album."

Keifer began writing for what would become 'The Way Life Goes' during the mid-'90s. Shortly after he began cutting tracks, his wife, Savannah, gave birth to their first child. "We took a little break right there to be parents for a while," he says. Tours with Cinderella and Keifer's ongoing vocal troubles also delayed the album's completion.

Keifer plans to launch a solo tour in February to give fans a taste of 'The Way Life Goes'. "I'm going to try to strike a balance" of new material and old favorites, he says. "I'd say it's going to be 50-50, like a preview of new songs off the record, then some Cinderella favorites, some of them done just like the record and a couple of them reinvented a little."

Keifer says his voice is doing well now, but "that's a daily battle for me. I didn't have nodes, or something that could be lasered off. The condition I have is neurological. It's something I have to deal with every day, because one of my cords just doesn't respond the way it should.

"I stick to my routine and regimen every day and try to keep them doing what they're supposed to do. I'm not going to lie to you: It's not fun, and I have my ups and downs with it."

Keifer just kicked off a solo tour in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Feb. 9, with additional shows scheduled for New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago, Nashville and more.

"The Way Life Goes" track listing:

1. Solid Ground
2. A Different Light

The new track from ADLER 'Good To Be Bad', featuring a guest appearance by Rob Zombie/ex-Marilyn Manson guitarist John 5, from ADLER's debut album, 'Back From The Dead', marks a return visit to the rock picks from what in my opinion is the best music Steven Adler has released since being in Guns N' Roses. With production by Jeff Pilson (Dokken/Foreigne/War & Peace/T&N) and was mixing by Jay Ruston (Anthrax/Stone Sour/Steel Panther), and the musicianship of frontman Jacob Bunton, guitarist Lonny Paul, and bassist Johnny Martin, the album is an 11-track collection of great rock from top to bottom.

Adler will be rocking The Whisky A Go-Go on Feb. 15th in West Hollywood, CA., with more dates soon to be announced.

Look for Steven as a guest on the new 'The Ben Show' that will debut on Comedy Central on February 28th. He will appear on the debut episode that airs 10pm EST/9pm CST.

Love & Death, the new band from former KORN guitarist Brian "Head" Welch has released a new clip for the first single from their new album 'Between Here & Lost'. 'The Abandoning", is a blistering, bombastic knock to the senses.

The single and album are a fantastic return to the metal scene for Welch, with the CD consisting of 11 tracks, ranging from songs about personal struggle and triumph ('Chemicals', 'My Disaster', 'Paralyzed') to emotionally charged anthems ('Fading Away', 'Watching The Bottom Fall') and even a heavy version of Devo's 1980 hit 'Whip It'. Welch put the band together in 2009, eventually putting together the lineup that is the band today.

"This record was birthed from trials, tribulations, pain, suffering, anxiety, depression, and drama," stated Welch. "However, we came out on top and the end result is a very real, raw and honest record. We are so stoked for people to hear it! From our opening song, 'The Abandoning', to our cover of DEVO's 'Whip it', to our collaboration with Mattie Montgomery from FOR TODAY on 'I W8 4 U', It's an exciting piece of art and the listener will feel the different range of emotions with the lyrics and melodies of each song."

Look for Love & Death on tour soon.

Love & Death are:
Brian "Head" Welch
lead guitarist: JR Bareis
bassist: Michael Valentine
drummer: Dan Johnson.

'Between Here & Lost' track listing:
1. The Abandoning
2. Whip It
3. Watching The Bottom Fall
4. By The Way...
5. Meltdown
6. My Disaster
7. I W8 4 U (featuring Mattie Montgomery)
8. Fading Away

Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators have released another video from one of the rock albums of the year in 2012 with 'Anastasia'. The former Guns N' Roses guitarist is now releasing his music through his own label, Dik Hayd Records,
and the band will be releasing another yet to be recorded album together at some point, probably in late 2014 or early 2015. The band is currently on a European tour, with upcoming date in Slovenia, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Russia and more in the month of February. In March the band will hit the UK and Ireland followed in May with what looks like the last tour date of the year May 11 in Toyko for Ozzfest with Black Sabbath. Vocalist Myles Kennedy will then get back to work with Alter Bridge, but should record another album with Slash and the band in early 2014.
