Stone Sour have released a lyric video for "The Uncanny Valley", a track from the band's latest album, "House of Gold & Bones Part 2", the second installment of the group's two-part concept album. Get both if you haven't yet on CD, and make the actual house out of the packaging. The CD, which arrived everywhere this past April, debuted at No. 10 on The Billboard 200, marking the group's fourth consecutive Top 10 debut, an incredible achievement for the three-time Grammy-nominated act.

The first three issues of "House of Gold & Bones" (Dark Horse Comics) are available now. Written by Corey Taylor, the comic book follows and develops the story contained within the two-part album and features stunning covers from Jason Shawn Alexander ("Empty Zone", "Batman", "Abe Sapien"). The limited four-issue series is Taylor's debut in the comics genre.

The "House Of Gold & Bones" albums were recorded at Sound Farm Studios just outside of the band's native Des Moines, Iowa with producer David Bottrill (Tool, Muse).

Buckcherry have released ‘Nothing Left But Tears’ as the new track off their most recent album ‘Confessions.' It's another solid track from a truly underrated American Hard Rock band. Buckcherry have North American tour dates scheduled throughout the summer, followed by a late fall European tour.

Frontman Josh Todd told ABC News Radio recently that Buckcherry’s latest album was originally supposed to serve as the soundtrack for a semi-autobiographical film he was considering making.

“I was writing a screenplay on my own life and I kinda condensed it down into a short film. So really, it wasn’t like a concept record it was like, 'Let’s make the record the soundtrack of the film.'” Todd is preparing to move forward with the 30-minute short in the near future, adding, “We’re working on [the film] right now. We got it casted, the locations, we got a director, you know.”

Guitarist Keith Nelson also revealed that the group has plans to record a live DVD on their current tour. “We just wanna really make sure that it’s something special that we have complete control over,” he explains. “We’ve had stuff that has been on DVD before but certainly not anything we could monitor or have a say in, so this is very exciting for us.”

Release dates for the short film and live DVD have yet to be announced.

Legendary singer-songwriter Stephen Stills (Buffalo Springfield/CSN/CSN&Y) has united with guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Electric Flag keyboardist Barry Goldberg to form the new all-star blues-rock super group The Rides. The band's debut album, 'Can’t Get Enough,', is set for release on August 26 via Provogue Records.

The album features  4 co-written originals, a handful of covers, and a vintage, previously unrecorded Stills gem 'Can’t Get Enough' was inspired by - and is an homage to - the now classic 1968 album Super Session, which featured Stills on guitar on one side, and the late Mike Bloomfield on the other (Bloomfield had founded Electric Flag with Goldberg, who also played on Super Session, as did Blood, Sweat & Tears keyboardist Al Kooper).

The Rides bring a historic and distinctively American musical blues rock hybrid into the 21st century. Described by Stills as "the blues band of my dreams", The Rides will embark on a world tour beginning in September.

The project began with Stills and Goldberg writing together at their mutual manager Elliot Roberts’ recommendation. "It was like finding a long lost soul brother" says Goldberg (who hadn’t met Stills before, their shared 1968 credit notwithstanding). "We connected on so many things, started jamming, and soon had begun writing our first song."

When Kenny Wayne Shepherd arrived, The Rides’ three-way chemistry immediately clicked. "The Rides are a perfect mix of generations, where three musicians who love and play the blues collide and create music that goes beyond all our other individual life experiences and career achievement," says 35-year-old, Shepherd, who’s had six #1 Blues albums. "Stephen and I have rock backgrounds as well, but the blues is the fabric that holds this all together."

That exhilarating creative sorcery blasts through ten tracks, four of them Stills, Shepherd, Goldberg co-writes including the album-opening barnburner "Roadhouse" - about the life of an itinerant bluesman - the melodic, CSN-esque "Don’t Want Lies," and the title track, a groove soaked, guitar-heavy anthem with a soul-baring lead vocal by Stills. Other highlights include a Crazy Horse-calibre interpretation of "Rockin’ in the Free World". "Everyone gets off on this one," says Goldberg, "it’s just a ton of electricity on this Neil Young classic."

The four additional covers are the tracks on which Shepherd sings lead, including "Talk To Me Baby" and "Honey Bee" by blues giants Elmore James and Muddy Waters, respectively, and Iggy and The Stooges’ "Search and Destroy," which The Rides truly make their own. The album closes with the raucous "Word Game," a song Stills wrote during his late ’60s era with Buffalo Springfield, but never recorded. "It’s an old acoustic song that I had fun adapting to an electric band," he says.

The in-the-moment energy and unscripted emotion of "Can’t Get Enough", however, are among the album’s greatest strengths, as is the powerhouse guitar interplay between Stills and Shepherd, and the stellar accompaniment from Goldberg - who, as a teenager in his native Chicago, sat in with Muddy Waters, Otis Rush and Howlin’ Wolf, and went on to play keyboards for Bob Dylan at the Newport Folk Festival, formed The Electric Flag, and composed with Gerry Goffin.

The album was recorded live in the studio over the course of about a week at EastWest in Los Angeles, helmed by long-time Shepherd producer Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads, Modern Lovers). Mostly first or second takes made the album’s final cut. In addition to Chris Layton, Shepherd’s drummer, and also a veteran of Stevie Ray Vaughn’s Double Trouble, the album features bassist Kevin McCormick (CSN, Jackson Browne).

In the spirit of that simple, raw authentic 40s and 50s blues music the three of us love, we got in there and boom! A few takes and we were done," says Stills. "The songs have muscle; they don’t sound dated or contrived. They’re very natural and organic. I can’t wait to tour with these guys and start recording again."

Check out the first single, album samples, and the band's EPK below. The Rides will kick off a U.S. Summer tour on August 28 in New York City.

The Rides Can't Get EnoughThe Rides tour datesCurrent Alice Cooper guitarist Orianthi has released a new video for the track 'Heaven In This Hell,' the title track of her current album, which came out this past March on Robo Records. The Australian guitarists bandmates in Alice Cooper, Glen Sobel (drums) and Tommy Henriksen (guitar) also appear in the new clip.

Leading up to her latest stint with Alice Cooper and reputation as one of the preeminent female guitarist in rock, Orianthi wrote her first song at the age of 6, was discovered and played alongside her idols Carlos Santana and Steve Vai early in her career, and was selected for Michael Jackson's ill-fated "This Is It Tour" that exposed her to mainstream audiences. In the fall of 2009, Orianthi released "According To You", her first solo single, which went platinum in the U.S.

After recently wrapping up the 'Masters Of Madness' tour for Alice with Marilyn Manson, she will continue to tour this Summer with Alice and has also booked a few of her own headlining shows on off-days. Dates confirmed so far are July 17 in New York City at The Studio at Webster Hall, Mexicali Live in Teaneck, New Jersey on July 21,  as well as London's famed 100 Club on August 7. Her band for these shows will include Alice Cooper band members Glen Sobel on drums and bassist Chuck Garric. Rock on girl!!

Trent Reznor named Chief Creative Officer of Daisy, a new music streaming service

Trent Reznor named Chief Creative Officer of Daisy, a new music streaming service

Beside working on new Nine Inch Nails music and getting ready to release an album by his side project How To Destroy Angels, Trent Reznor will be the Chief Creative Officer for a new music streaming service that is expected to launch in the second half of 2013 called Daisy.

Record label, producer and music mogul Jimmy Iovine confirmed at a Beats by Dre event that Reznor is contributing to Daisy and that the service will feature music brought to listener’s ears by Beats Electronic, which Iovine co-founded.

Iovine said that Reznor would play a large role in the look and feel of Daisy and will focus his energies toward "the connection between the artist and the consumer. What’s missing from the digital music landscape is the cultural context. We need to bring an emotional connection back to the act of music discovery. With Trent and now [Daisy CEO Ian Rogers] we have the right team in place to do it."

Reznor's other band How to Destroy Angels will release their first full-length album, 'Welcome Oblivion,' on March 5th.

New trailer for Dave Grohl’s Sound City Studios documentary posted

New trailer for Dave Grohl’s Sound City Studios documentary posted

A new trailer of 'Sound City,' the feature-length documentary directed and produced by Foo Fighter Dave Grohl, about Los Angeles' legendary and now defunct Sound City recording studio in Van Nuys, California has been posted. The concept for the movie was conceived by Grohl after he bought an equally famous Neve 8028 recording console from the studio. The console, built in 1972, is considered by many to be the crown jewel of analog recording equipment.

The Neve 8028 was used to record an amazing list of classic albums by the likes of Nirvana, Neil Young, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Cheap Trick, Guns N' Roses, Rage Against The Machine, Slipknot, Nine Inch Nails, Metallica and countless others over the past 40 years. The clip features John Fogerty, Tom Petty, Mick Fleetwood and others discussing their experiences recording at the legendary Los Angeles studio and working with the Neve 8028.

"It's tube-driven, it's analog," comments Fogerty. "The bass sounds better, the human voice sounds better." Sound City will reportedly include new music and interviews with a wide variety of other artists, including Rick Springfield collaborating with Corey Taylor, members of Cheap Trick, Kevin Cronin of REO Speedwagon and Stephen Pearcy and Warren DeMartini of Ratt. No release date for the film has yet been announced, but Grohl hopes to have it out by early 2013.
