Alice Cooper took the stage of the legendary Whisky a Go Go on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood this past Thursday night for the first time since Alice Cooper the band performed there live in 1969 with Led Zeppelin.
Cooper was joined by Steve Hunter, one of rock's great guitarists; Tommy Henriksen, who co-wrote much of the new release; bassist Chuck Garric; drummer Glen Sobel; and guitar prodigy Orianthi, making her debut with the band. The band rocked all the classic tracks and songs from Cooper's new album "Welcome 2 My Nightmare", the long-awaited sequel to his 1975 classic "Welcome to My Nightmare", which was released on September 13. Says Cooper: "Budapest, my wife says, is more romantic than Paris. There’s something about Budapest that’s very warm. Go there during the summer of the spring and you’ll be surprised how much fun that is."

Alice Cooper to play legendary Whisky A-Go-Go for first time in 40 years
by craig on Sep.05, 2011, under ROCK NEWS, ROCK TOUR DATES
Alice Cooper will treat fans to a special performance at the legendary Whisky A Go-Go on September 15th at 9pm. Cooper will take the stage of the legendary rock venue, on the Sunset Strip, for the first time since Alice Cooper the band performed there live in 1969 with Led Zeppelin.
"The Whisky had an option for a return engagement, but we got busy and it just slipped our minds. No, seriously, the Whisky gig we did with Led Zeppelin is something we all talk about to this day. It's going to be amazing to go back as a straight ahead LA bar band... We might even take requests. I figure, if we could do it in London, we can do it at the Whisky. And it's LA, so you never know who else might show up..."
Earlier this summer, Cooper played the 100 Club in London and Johnny Depp joined Alice on stage.
Cooper will be joined by Steve Hunter, Tommy Henriksen who co-wrote much of the new release; bassist Chuck Garric; drummer Glen Sobel; and guitar prodigy Orianthi, who will be making her debut with the band.
The band will be playing all the classics and songs from his new album 'Welcome 2 My Nightmare", the long-awaited sequel to his 1975 classic "Welcome To My Nightmare", which will be released on September 13th.

by craig on Aug.19, 2011, under ROCK NEWS, ROCK TOUR DATES
A public memorial for Jani Lane has been announced. It will take place this Wednesday, August 24 at the Key Club on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, CA. Many of Jani's contemporaries will be in attendance, as will members of his family.
Great White, Quiet Riot, L.A. Guns, Enuff Z'Nuff and Slammin' Gladys and many other rockers will all perform at the Key Club to pay tribute to their fallen comrade. 300 free tickets will be given out at the Key Club box office starting at 10:00 a.m.
An autopsy performed on August 12 on Lane proved inconclusive pending the results of toxicology tests, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office. Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter says it may take seven or eight weeks to finalize the cause of death. Investigators found a half-empty bottle of vodka and prescription medication in the hotel room where Lane was found dead on August 11.
