Two years after Michael Henrichsen set up his PlayMyBirthdayBillyIdol.com project, Billy himself sent a video broadcast during Billy Idol Aid 4, announcing that he will take the stage at Seattle’s Showbox SoDo on October 26th for Michael 26th birthday party. This whole project stemmed from a conversation Michael had with a co-worker in October of 2010 right before his 24th birthday. He has been trying to get Billy to play his birthday for a couple of years now, and has even raised over $7,000 and a multitude of canned food items for charity at his Billy Idol Aid events.
“The people of the World have spoken! The dream will become a reality!”, Billy comments in the video, which you can watch below. Tickets were snapped up in a matter of days, and the show is now completely sold out. Henrichsen’s actual birthday is on October 22nd, but October 26th falls on a weekend, which allowed for the biggest attendance possible. “I’m completely in shock right now, this is like something out of a movie!” says Henrichsen. “It just goes to show with hard work and lot of support anything can be achieved in life!” Congrats Michael and have a kick ass birthday!!
