Sammy Hagar hoped the new “Chickenfoot III” would debut at #1. It didnt’ hit the stop spot, but it still had a more than respectable first week of album sales. ‘III’ cracked the Top 10 at No. 9 with 42,000 copies sold. That was less than their 2009 self-titled debut which debuted at No. 4, selling 52,000 copies. The debut album went on to sell over 500,000, going gold. Time will tell if this album can match or exceed that total.
