Drummer Darren Smith of Canadian metal band Warmachine has been named the lead vocalist for Jake E. Lee’s new band Red Dragon Cartel, the band led by former Ozzy Osbourne and Badlands guitarist Jake E. Lee, according to blabbermouth.net.

The band name Red Dragon Cartel, references the axeman’s Japanese roots, also features Ronnie Mancuso (Beggars & Thieves) on bass and Jonas Fairley (Black Betty) on drums.

The album was recorded at Las Vegas’ The Hideout Studios, which is owned and operated by producer Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Five Finger Death Punch, In This Moment) and will feature a combination of legendary rock artists and some of the biggest names of new metal.
