‘Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey’, a new documentary that tells the inspirational story behind Journey’s discovery of their current frontman, Arnel Pineda, will premiered April 19 at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.

The movie, written and directed by Ramona S. Diaz, focuses on Pineda’s personal struggles and his efforts to fit in with the group and be accepted by the band’s fans. Homeless for more than a year at the age of 13, Pineda slept in public parks and scrounged for scraps of food in Manila, Philippines. The Filipino singer was hired by Journey after guitarist Neal Schon came across a YouTube video of his cover band, Zoo.

Don’t Stop Believin’ will be screened two more times during the Tribeca festival, on April 27 and 28. The documentary also will be shown at the San Francisco International Film Festival 2012 on May 3.

Journey has started to map out its summer concert itinerary, and Pat Benatar and Loverboy will be coming along for the ride.
