L.A. Guns have completed recording their first album since 2005’s ‘Tales From The Strip’, and will start the mixing process on Monday (Feb.27).

The album was produced by the great Andy Johns and will feature  appearances by former band members Mick Cripps and Kelly Nickels. It includes fifteen new original songs and one track in Spanish. A ‘big old school’ video shoot is slated for next week in Hollywood for a couple of songs from the new record.

Phil Lewis, Steve Riley, Stacey Blades and Scotty Griffin announced the signing of their new record deal with Cleopatra Records in January. A CD and vinyl release, with bonus tracks available only on iTunes, is set for early summer. A nine-month World Tour following the release is also in the works. Singer Phil Lewis said: “We’ve been waiting a long time to get back in and record. Our last album, ‘Tales From The Strip’, was incredibly well-received and we’re looking forward to putting out something even better! With today’s uncertain musical landscape it’s great to have a label like Cleopatra Records behind us. We’ve been friends with Brian Perera (Cleopatra Records founder and owner) for a long time, and are really looking forward to working together on this and many more projects with him in the future.”

Here’s a short video from the studio on the first day of recording at Stagg Studio in Los Angeles on February 6th:

Guitarist Tracii Guns is about to put his version of L.A. Guns to rest and concentrate on his new project Tracii Guns’ League Of Gentlemen. The new band, consisting of Tracii Guns (guitars), Scott Foster Harris (vocals), Doni Gray (drums), Steve Preach (guitars, piano, organ) and Johnny Martin (bass).
Tracii Guns’ version of L.A. Guns will come to an end after their upcoming European tour, beginning in March. Said Guns, “This European tour will be the last L.A. Guns tour for now and also it’s a tour to break in my new band The Tracii Guns League Of Gentlemen. So, we will be doing a complete L.A. Guns set and possibly one new League Of Gentlemen song. After this tour it will be League Of Gentlemen for the rest of the year.”
