I am reviewing the Goal Zero Rock Out Speakers, available at MyBatteryPlace.com

I like to get outdoors and especially like taking my music with me when I hike. This speaker system feels great on my hikes, it’s really lightweight and the adjustable straps made it easy to hook up to my backpack. Even though I strapped it facing away from me on my shoulder, the sound was fantastic. My typical hike consists of rocking to some Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, U2, Van Halen and some Black Sabbath tossed in for good measure…These speakers sounded great with whatever I threw at ’em. For being so small they handle a wide range of frequency, have a really crystal clear high end and good low end. I’ve also plugged it into my laptop and the sound was actually better than my existing laptop audio, I could not believe it.

Goal Zero specs say about 20 hours of continuous playback on one full charge. I went on a 3 hour hike and listened to music near full volume the whole way, played with them a little more after I got home, still had a charge for a couple days of use. When they need recharging I can plug into any USB charger, iPhone or iPod wall charger, laptop, etc. The inner pocket is great for solid protection for an iPod or iPhone, or any smart-phone that will fit. I don’t think you can fit a Note II or anything as big, but the iPhone’s all fit from original to iPhone 5.
