The new Rush album, ‘Clockwork Angels,’ will be released on May 29 in the United States, Japan and their home country Canada.
It’s the 19th studio album from the band and will be distributed through Anthem Records (Canada) and Roadrunner Records (worldwide).
It’s the first album from Rush since ‘Snakes and Arrows’ in 2007. Two songs from the new record, ‘Caravan’ and ‘BU2B,’ were released back in June 2010, and as a 7″ single for Record Store Day 2011. The two-year delay between the release of the single and the album is due to the extension of the ‘Time Machine’ tour.
The new album is produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Velvet Revolver, Foo Fighters, Weezer) who also handled the duties on ‘Snakes and Arrows.’
Rush continues its partnership with Jammit to bring you a whole new way to experience ‘2112,’ ‘Limelight,’ ‘YYZ’ and ‘Tom Sawyer.’ Jammit gives you access to the original Rush multi-track masters, with instrument-specific versions available for drums, bass, guitar and vocals, with the precise notation and tablature. In addition to being an exceptional learning tool, each Rush song can be analyzed by isolating the individual instruments from the rest of the mix, slowing down the speed (without changing the pitch) and looping difficult sections.
