Seether rocked “Lopez Tonight” March 29th, with “Country Song”, their #1 song on itunes. It’s also top 5 on the active rock chart, top 10 on the rock chart and top 15 at alternative rock. Needless to say it’s the hottest rock tune out there right now! Check out the performance below.

Recently Seether guitarist Troy McLawhorn left the band . He says he didn’t want to quit, but he had no choice due to “personal friction” with one of the other members. The band announced McLawhorn’s decision at the beginning of this month but original statements were neutral, simply referring to “other interests.”

On March 8 the band said: “We regret to inform you guys that Troy has decided to leave. We wish him well in whatever he decides to do in the future, and we look forward to seeing all our fans out on the road.” Former Evanescence guitarist McLawhorn himself said: “Thanks for all the support – I really enjoyed playing and creating music with the guys and I wish I didn’t have to leave. It was a hard decision and I wish them the best.” But now he’s has made a more forthcoming statement explaining: “I won’t be at any of the upcoming Seether shows because I have put in my notice that I’m leaving the band.

“I wish I could stay – but because of personal friction with another member I have to leave for my own happiness. I hope everyone understands. “Thanks, and do what makes you happy.”

Seether’s new album “Hold On to Strings Better Left to Fray” is due out in May. The band describe it as “the heaviest thing we’ve ever done” and say they’ve decided to remain a three-piece act for the foreseeable future.

Seether kick off their tour April 1st in Fort Myers, Florida and have dates booked until the end of July.
