Here’s Stone Sour featuring Slipknot’s Corey Taylor (vocals) and Jim Root (guitar) with a great performance of the song “Hesitate” on the Wednesday, February 16 episode of ABC-TV’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash recently told the Charlotte Observer in an interview: “There was truth to the rumour that we were looking at Corey – but then I left for tour. So there’s nothing being done at the moment. No decision has been made.”

Q: Your experience with notorious singers is well known. Is personality something you consider?

Slash: “Beggars can’t be choosers. The first most important thing is to find individuals who are musically capable and then you have to take into account whatever their personality is…. It’s something you need to accept within reason if they play the way you want them to play. A lot of musicians are crazy and that’s what makes them great musicians.”

Duff McKagan (Velvet Revolver, Loaded, Guns N’ Roses), was asked by a fan in a Feb. 9th ESPN.com interview what the most important attribute is that a lead singer should have besides a great voice, McKagan responded, “Any good artist has to have . . . the ability to tap the dark stuff and have it be real. Great lead singers have the ability to tap that. No inhibitions helps as well. Axl (Rose) and Scott (Weiland) are two of the best front men ever. Corey Taylor is one of those guys as well. He can tap it.”  When asked about the rumors that Taylor was going to join Velvet Revolver, McKagan wrote, “I can neither confirm nor deny . . . He is a bad dude though. I like him as a human being and a singer. He’s the voice of a whole new generation.”

Taylor himself “neither confirmed nor denied” the rumors in an interview with Billboard.com last month, just laughed and said, “To be continued!” when asked about it.
