Veteran hard rockers Sweet will play their first London show in nine years at a charity event on September 13, ahead of a 23-date co-headlining UK tour with Slade. The band will rock Merton Manor Club in Wimbledon on September 13 at an event called ‘In It For Ingrid.’

The benefit will raise funds for aneurism victim Ingrid Paasch, who remains paralyzed down the left side of her body because the specialist treatment she needs is not currently available to her. The Merton Manor has a maximum attendance of just 250 people, so it will be an intimate and great night of music.

As far as the Slade and Sweet tour, vocalist Noddy Holder isn’t part of the touring band anymore, but Slade mainstays Dave Hill, Don Powell, John Berry and Mal McNulty are all a part of it. Slade have had six UK number 1’s and other classic cuts, ‘Coz I Luv You,’ ‘Mama Weer All Crazee Now,’ ‘Gudby T’Jane,’ ‘Cum On Feel The Noize,’ ‘Far Far Away,’ ‘Merry Christmas Everybody’ and ‘My Oh My.’

Meanwhile, this line up of Sweet includes Pete Lincoln, Andy Scott, Tony O’Hara and Bruce Bisland. The band’s most popular singles include ‘Blockbuster,’ ‘Wig Wam Bam,’ ‘Little Willy,’ ‘Hellraiser,’ ‘Ballroom Blitz’ and ‘Teenage Rampage,’ with ‘Fox On The Run’ going Top 3 in the USA, followed by the massive track ‘Action.’
