Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, Andy Timmons, and Mike Keneally would like to invite you to The G4 Experience to be held at the picturesque Cambria Pines Lodge in Cambria, California from August 11-15, 2014.
The G4 Experience is an extension of the G3 concept spawned by Joe over 15 years ago, bringing together some of the best hands and minds in rock guitar. This unique guitar retreat is open to guitarists of all ages and levels and provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hang out with and learn from Joe, Paul, Andy and Mike.
The intimate G4 Experience is available for a maximum of 175 attendees. The event size is limited so every guest will have the opportunity to spend time with each of the featured artists. This unique music camp is open to guitarists of all ages and levels and provides an entertaining and educational once-in-a-lifetime vacation experience.
Camp tuition includes 4 nights lodging, meals, master classes, breakout sessions, live performances and jam sessions. Every attendee will also receive a welcome kit with items including Joe Satriani and Paul Gilbert guitar picks and a commemorative G4 Experience poster.
Joe Satriani and Paul Gilbert explain what the G4 Experience is all about: Joe says, “In 1996 I wanted to find a way to work with the guitar players I respected and we launched the first G3 Tour. Since then, I’ve enjoyed countless hours playing and ‘experiencing’ the amazing talents of my peers. The G4 Experience is my chance to expand on the G3 idea. G4 will give everyone a chance to improve their skills, meet like minded players, be inspired, and make some great guitar music!”
Paul, a veteran of his own two Great Guitar Escape events in New York State, comments: “There are seminars throughout the day. It’s really interesting to hear everyone’s different approach to the guitar and how to live life as a musician. Good food and good atmosphere are there to keep your brain fresh and your fingers moving. And every night will be amazing concerts, and opportunities to jam.”
When you’re at G4, you’ll have plenty of time to meet and hang out with the instructors. Paul explains, “There are star performers at the camp, but this is much more than a handshake and a photo. We have enough time to relax and hang out. And you’ll get plenty of concrete guitar ideas, and inspiring memories to take home. One of the best things about this camp is that you don’t just say, ‘Hello, It’s nice to meet you.’ You plug in, and say something with your guitar. That’s my favorite way to meet people.”
Joe elaborates on what he’s looking to get out of the camp experience, “I hope to explore new facets of the instrument, meet some cool new players and make some great guitar music!”
“I just like hanging out with musicians,” Paul says. “It’s really inspiring to spend time with people who have similar passion and goals. The goal of ‘being a musician’ isn’t always supported by friends and family, so it’s really nice to be in a group of people who understand the unquenchable thirst for playing the guitar.”
“The musical interaction between great players always appeals to me and being immersed in a beautiful setting in California is the perfect place for the G4 Experience,” Joe agrees.
Paul sums up the G4 Experience: “I see it as fuel for the musical soul. Whether you’re a pro or a weekend warrior, this ‘fuel’ is something that every musician needs. New ideas. New knowledge. And just the experience of being around like-minded people. That’s often the best vacation of all!”
Hope to see you there!
Joe, Paul, Andy & Mike
