Influential British rock legends the Kinks have launched a contest that could make your dreams come true. The band are looking for fans to record a cover version of one of their many well-known tunes. Ray Davies gives more details in the video posting below.

The winner will get to meet singer Ray Davies and drummer Mick Avory, will be given a free session at the group’s famed Konk Studios in London and will receive a selection of signed Kinks items. In addition, the winning track will be promoted via The Kinks official website and the group’s social media outlets. Davies himself will choose the winning tune, along with two runners-up.

Fans also will be able to vote for their favorite entries at the Talenthouse website. The two most-voted-for tracks also will win a selection of Kinks-related prizes. Entries must be submitted by August 2. Voting will be open from August 3 to August 10, with the winners to be announced on August 24th.

The contest is being held in celebration of the impending release of a pair of U.K. compilations, The Kinks at the BBC box set and a 44-track collection titled Waterloo Sunset: The Very Best of The Kinks & Ray Davies. Here’s the links to enter and get more information:
