Van Halen have announced a special club date this Thursday (Jan. 5) in New York City, at the 250-capacity Cafe Wha?, which used to be owned by David Lee Roth’s uncle, Manny Roth. Manny Roth booked legendary acts like Jimi Hendrix, Bill Cosby, Bob Dylan, Richard Pryor and others at the venue in the past. The band will debut material from their new album and some of their best. Journalists from across New York have been invited to what is expected to be a 45 minute set.
They should be ready having been rehearsing a few days a week for the last couple of months at The Roxy in Hollywood. The Van Halen News Desk has also reported that the title of the first single will be ‘Tattoo’, which will be out on Jan. 10, as should a new video. The tour apparently will kick off as early as next month, in Louisville, Kentucky, with tickets also going on sale Jan. 10.
