Godfather of shock rock Alice Cooper could will be wearing a Green Goblin costume, but not for Halloween. Alice is reportedly in talks to join the cast of the broadway musical ‘Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark,’ in early 2014.
The New York Post reported recently that Cooper would be paid $150,000 a week to join the $85 million production. The production to this point has not returned one penny to its investors. U2 wrote music and lyrics for the production, and the Edge is one of the show’s investors.
The idea of casting Cooper comes from the show’s billionaire producer, Michael Cohl, who is friends with Bono. ‘Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark’ has been a troubled production from it’s start, with cast injuries, bad reviews, lawsuits and the fact that it is losing hundreds of thousands of dollars every week. No confirmation from Alice has been made to this point, and it probably won’t have much to do with the survival of the production or not, but you gotta do it Alice! We want to see it!
